Today, My President is Barack Obama!
Today is inauguration day for President Obama, and with it comes some new footwear. This is the newest release from MiBLOX, and these are the Baracks. As you can tell, they spent so much time creating them they couldn’t spend much time on the name. This past election year saw more crappy product produced depicting our President Elect than ever before. Thanks to Shepard Fairey, one image ruled them all, making its way to t-shirts, stickers, shoes, hats, posters…etc. He alone controlled the Obama underground movement and actually did a swell job, using proceeds from his art to produce more awareness of Obama during his campaign trail. Unfortunately, some others felt that they could cash in on Obama’s pop appeal and some just ripped off Fairey’s work, while still others would create unneeded, unfortunate product. No matter how bad some products were, it appealed to many of us because of its subject matter. So, on this historic day, I wish to give you what I hope to be one of the last meaningless products depicting our Commander in Chief and also a quote from him….
